IgnitionSA was founded on one belief: South African drivers deserve the same standard of automotive journalism as anywhere else in the world.
Since 2012, we have tested every major vehicle launched in South Africa — from sub-R200k city cars to multimillion-rand hypercars — on the roads our readers actually use. The N1 at rush hour. The N3 over Van Reenen. Sani Pass. The Garden Route at dusk.
We are a team of journalists, engineers, and lifelong petrolheads based in Johannesburg, with contributors in Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth. Our editorial is funded by advertising and subscriptions, never by manufacturer influence.
